2015 Dodge Challenger Recalled To Fix Side Curtain Airbag Bolts | Edmunds.com

WASHINGTON — Fiat-Chrysler announced it is recalling an estimated 81 2015 Dodge Challenger coupes in North America to tighten or install a bolt that secures the side curtain airbag.

"Post-assembly inspections discovered some vehicles produced during a 10-day period this year may have loose or missing bolts," the company said in a statement. "The bolt is designed to secure a side curtain airbag, which, if improperly installed, may not provide full protection."

Fiat-Chrysler said it is not aware of any related injuries, accidents or customer complaints linked to the recall.

In addition, an automated assembly line verification process has been implemented to prevent recurrence of the problem.

There are an estimated 72 affected cars in the United States, six in Canada and three in Mexico.

Dodge dealers will make the repair. A date has not been specified for the recall. Owners can contact Fiat-Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403.

No information about the recall has been posted on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle safety in the United States.

Edmunds says: Owners of these cars should wait for their official recall notice and then schedule a service appointment with their dealership. But if you have an immediate concern, it's best to contact your dealer now.
