DEARBORN, Michigan — Pony-car lovers who were obsessed with last weekend's debut of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro coupe now can turn their attention back to the rival 2015 Ford Mustang, thanks to a new contest.

The Ford Credit Dream Drive Sweepstakes celebrates the 2015 Mustang and Mustang's 50th birthday with the "ultimate road trip."

Winners will choose a route from among six legendary North America roads and drive it using a 2015 Mustang provided for the trip.

The travel package is worth $8,500, according to a Ford statement on Tuesday.

The package bundles airfare, gas, lodging, spending money and a camera.

Official rules note that the winners must drive "a certain number of miles/kilometers each day. If you are not comfortable with driving a significant distance for several days or driving a short distance over rugged terrain for several days, do not enter the sweepstakes."

The contest ends on June 8. Entrants must be 25 or older, have auto insurance and a valid driver's license.

Edmunds says: If you have the urge to get behind the wheel of the Mustang on Route 66 or the Pacific Coast Highway, this is your contest.
