SANTA MONICA, California — The 2015 Chevrolet Malibu and 2015 Nissan Altima are among the best May lease deals priced at or near $199 per month, according to the latest roundup from Edmunds.com.

A lease on a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT is available to current GM lessees at $179 per month for 36 months with $1,519 due at signing. The mileage limit is 30,000, and additional miles are charged at 25 cents each. Non-GM lessees will pay $2,019 at signing.

A 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5 S can be leased for 36 months at $179 per month with $1,799 due at signing. Mileage is limited to 36,000, and extra miles are only 15 cents each.

Other small and compact cars that can be leased at or near $199 per month include a 2015 Hyundai Elantra GT, 2015 Kia Soul, 2015 Mazda 3 i Sport, 2015 Scion iQ, and a 2015 Toyota Corolla LE.

Shoppers in the market for a midsize model will find deals on a 2015 Buick Verano 1SD, 2015 Chrysler 200, 2015 Ford Fusion SE, 2015 Honda Accord LX, and a 2015 Toyota Camry SE.

Those looking for a wagon or SUV can choose from a lease on a 2015 Ford Escape SE, 2015 Honda CR-V 2WD LX, 2015 Jeep Patriot Latitude 4WD, 2015 Nissan Rogue Select S, and a 2015 Toyota RAV4.

Electric and hybrid vehicles on the $199 lease list include a 2015 Fiat 500e, 2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid SE, 2015 Ford Fusion Energi, 2015 Smart Fortwo Electric Cabriolet, and a 2015 Toyota Prius C.
