2016 BMW M6 Competition Package Boosted to 600 HP

The BMW 6 Series lineup got a mild refresh for 2016, and now the performance-minded M division has announced details on an upgraded Competition Package for the 2016 BMW M6 that brings power output up to a heady 600 hp. More on Motortrend.com:2013 BMW 650i Gran Coupe Verdict Available on all three M6 bodystyles—coupe, convertible, and four-door Gran Coupe—this new performance package offers 25 hp more than the equivalent package on 2014-2015 M6 models. The 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine also makes 15 lb-ft more torque than the standard M6 in Competition Package cars, for a total of 516 lb-ft. BMW already showed off a similarly powerful version of this engine in the limited-run BMW M5 30th Anniversary Edition, which used higher turbo boost pressure and an enhanced engine computer to make the same exact horsepower and torque numbers as this new Competition Package M6.
